“Why would you do that?”: Sister pleads for answers in KCSO shooting death of brother

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A woman is pleading for answers and trying to make sense of a KCSO deputy-involved shooting that claimed the life of her younger brother last week.

Kristel Pritchard is still grieving the death of her 22-year-old brother, Joshua. On Apr. 17, he was killed by Kern County Sheriff’s deputies at Belle Terrace Park.

“You know if you come into contact with my brother that he’s off [mentally],” said Kristel. “Why would you do that? That don’t make no sense for them to kill him like he’s nothing.”…
