19-year-old human trafficking suspect arrested, victim rescued: BPD

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — An alleged human trafficking suspect has been arrested after an investigation involving the Bakersfield Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigations and other agencies.

The investigation that targeted those engaged in human trafficking started on March 28. Detectives identified the human trafficking suspect as Owens Longmire, 19, of Bakersfield.

Longmire was found by the police department’s Special Enforcement Unit on April 18 while in possession of a firearm. He was taken into custody without incident, according to police.
