BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The biggest cases of EBT theft in Kern County have been consolidated for trial.
Norbert Karaba is the Romanian who was out on bail when he caught three more cases on the same offenses. Karaba was arrested alongside Nicolae Bud and Giorgio Marcelo in Los Angeles County.
Monday morning in court, all four of his cases were consolidated, meaning they will be tried together. The three defendants pleaded not guilty.

The prosecution asked the judge to keep the no bail status for the defendants, as requested by the district attorney. Nicolae Bud’s attorney is also looking to have his bail reduced, although that hasn’t been decided…
