A wide array of tools and services were available to mothers and families at the fourth annual Maternal Health Fair, held in Bakersfield. Alissa Avilahansen, a midwife assistant with Marivette Torres, emphasized the importance of access to maternal resources.
“In our community we have a lot of mothers who don’t know what resources there are out there, so having an event like this gives an opportunity for them to see all the resources that we have here in Bakersfield,” Avilahansen said.
