Centennial Park tennis courts to close for 2 months for rehab

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The city of Bakersfield’s Recreation & Parks Department began a tennis court rehabilitation project at Centennial Park on Monday.

The tennis courts at the park are required to close for about two months for this project, starting May 5. The existing asphalt courts are set to be demolished and fully replaced with new post-tension concrete and new color surfacing, according to city officials.

The work area will be blocked off during this time and signage will remain up in the area as well. According to city officials, the rest of the park and its amenities will stay open to the public during the project…
