Fatal crash on Central Valley Hwy. under investigation by CHP

WASCO, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash on Wednesday evening in the Shafter area, according to CHP’s website. A CHP official said it was more than likely that there was at least one ejection, due to the SUV rolling several times.

The incident, which killed at least one person, took place around 6:32 p.m. It involved a grey SUV that collided with a parked pick-up truck with a trailer on Central Valley Highway at Dresser Avenue, said CHP.

CHP reported that the driver of the SUV was traveling at a high rate of speed before the crash. At least one person was killed in the accident, and at least one lane was blocked as of 6:52 p.m.

The cause of the crash remains unknown, and it is unclear if there were any other injuries…
