Woman arrested after taking company vehicle, initiating KCSO pursuit on Highway 178

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A 38-year-old woman was arrested Thursday after stealing a car and fleeing from sheriff’s deputies on Highway 178.

Maegen Puga, 38, was arrested for grand theft auto, felony evading, driving a vehicle in the opposite direction of traffic, destroying evidence and petty theft, according to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office says Puga took a company vehicle without consent, near Ferguson Avenue in Oildale. Sheriff’s deputies lost a visual of Puga, but tracked her location to be going eastbound Highway 178…
