BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Three men charged in connection with an extensive EBT fraud ring had their preliminary hearing postponed Monday to mid-June.
Both the prosecutor and defense attorneys agreed to reschedule the preliminary hearing for June 16 in the case against Norbert Karaba, Giorgio Marcelo and Nicolae Bud. The hearing, at which a judge will determine if there’s sufficient evidence for the case to proceed, is expected to last about five hours.
The defendants were arrested April 10 at a home in Northridge where investigators found card skimmers, pinhole cameras and over $40,000 in cash, according to the District Attorney’s Office…
