DUI suspect identified in crash that killed pedestrian on E California Ave

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Police have identified the man who was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving after a pedestrian was hit and killed Friday evening while crossing East California Avenue.

Timothy Suniga, 30, was arrested after the 8:53 p.m. crash in the 700 block of East California Avenue, police said. He’s no longer listed in custody.

Suniga has no prior criminal record in Kern County, according to the Superior Court website.
