4 drivers arrested for DUI during Bakersfield police checkpoint

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Bakersfield police arrested four people for driving under the influence Friday night after conducting a checkpoint operation.

On May 9, the Bakersfield Police Department arrested four drivers, cited 28 people for driving while unlicensed and cited five drivers for driving on a suspended license. The checkpoint was held in the 1400 block of Union Avenue between the hours of 6 p.m. and 12 a.m.

Bakersfield police screened a total of 1,204 vehicles during the checkpoint. Police detained 14 people at the checkpoint to further evaluate their sobriety level.
