BPD Chief discusses arrest of detective Marc Lugo, homeless encampments, police memorial week

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Chief of the Bakersfield Police Department, Greg Terry, first discussed on 17 News at Sunrise, the arrest of detective Marc Lugo and what is currently being done.

After getting a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, The Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit and Homeland Security Investigators served a search warrant at BPD Marco Lugo’s home in northwest Bakersfield.

Investigators said Instagram records revealed Lugo engaged in online communication encouraging a girl to send explicit material.
