BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Hotshot crews are still making progress while fighting the “Jaw Fire” located off Jawbone Road, northeast of Twin Oaks.

The intense winds are making it difficult to mop up.

At last report, the fire has burned 4,300 acres and is 60% contained. The fire is located in a remote area in Jawbone Canyon, on property owned by Blattner Energy. Crews say the origin of the fire is located under a wind propellor.
