Kern County firefighters battle 2-alarm blaze in Rosamond, save dog from burning home

ROSAMOND, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Kern County firefighters worked to contain a 2-alarm structure fire in Rosamond Saturday afternoon, according to the Kern County Fire Department (KCFD).

The KCFD reported to a house fire on the 6200 block of Sweetser rd. around 4:40 p.m. on May 24, 2025. A large column of smoke was visible to responding firefighters.

When firefighters arrived, they found a heavy fire and smoke engulfing a residence. Strong winds fueled the flames, igniting vehicles, tress, farm equipment, outbuildings and yard clutter, which created a firestorm around the home…
