BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Kern County Public Works is set to host household hazardous waste collection events in June throughout the county.
The first event is scheduled for June 6 and June 7 at Tehachapi Recycling & Sanitary Landfill, located at 12001 Tehachapi Boulevard.
The second event is set for June 27 at the Lebec Transfer Station, located at 300 Landfill Road. Both locations will be open for the event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to county officials.
Public works announces 3 bulky waste collection events in May
Household hazardous waste can also be dropped off at these permanent Kern County Special Waste Facilities:
- Bakersfield SWF at 4951 Standard Street: Open Tuesday – Saturday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- Mojave SWF at 17035 Finnin Street: Open the first Saturday of every other month (January, March, May, July, September, November), 9 a.m. – noon
- Ridgecrest SWF at 3301 West Bowman Road: Open the second and fourth Saturday of each month, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
No more than 15 gallons or 125 pounds of waste can be transported per trip, and no more than 5 gallons can be in a single container, according to officials…
