BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The city of Bakersfield is set to breath new life into a vacant building that has been plagued by blight for years.
Leaders broke ground Wednesday on the historic building–known as Fountain Plaza–which will be renovated into apartments for Bakersfield’s downtown population.
“My father and mother bought this complex in 1985…this was Dr. Warner Epp’s office until about three years ago and then homeless and the fires really fished him out,” said Jarrell Epp, the son of the owners of the building…
