Targeted Sweep Resulting in 20 Arrests

May 29, 2025 – Kern County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on May 23, 2025, deputies from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Metropolitan Patrol Division conducted a sweep of subjects loitering and/or trespassing in areas that received complaints from businesses and community members. Deputies worked in conjunction with District 3 Supervisor, Jeff Flores, Kern County Public Works and Code Compliance. The operation focused on the following areas:

  • N. Chester Ave./ Roberts Ln.
  • 200 Block of N. Chester Ave.
  • Olive Dr./ Knudson Dr.
  • Mt. Vernon Ave/ Niles Street
  • River Blvd./ Knotts Ave.

Deputies made a total of 20 total arrests: 14 misdemeanor and 6 felony arrests. Kern County Public Works staff hauled off two 8’ x 16’ grapple trucks, each full of approximately 2,000 pounds of debris…
