Ex-school board member sentenced for attempted statutory rape

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A former Lakeside Union School District board member was sentenced Tuesday after pleading no contest to attempted statutory rape.

Travis Fugitt must register as a sex offender for 10 years, perform 1,000 hours of community service and stay away from all minors to whom he’s not related for a two-year probation period.

Fugitt, of Fugitt Farming & Harvesting, pleaded no contest last month and charges of contacting and going to an arranged meeting place with the intent to commit a sex act with a minor were dismissed…
