Forty Acres site in Delano vandalized; Cesar Chavez Foundation seeks leads

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Cesar Chavez Foundation announced that the historic Forty Acres property in Delano was vandalized.

The organization said on Monday morning, staff arrived at our historic Forty Acres property in Delano to find extensive graffiti defacing one of its most significant structures.

In a social media post, it said, “The Tomasa Zapata Co-op Service Station, the first building erected on the site, once provided farm workers affordable gas and a place to repair their cars.”…
