BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — New details in homicide that left one man dead in a Lakeview apartment complex in southeast Bakersfield. The victim is a 74-year-old Bakersfield man, and his accused killer is scheduled to face a judge Wednesday in court.Police said Domingo Trevino, 74, was murdered by Jason Garibay, 30, in this apartment complex.

“The victim and the suspected offender were roommates,” said Detective Robert Pair said. “The victim succumbed to fatal injuries as a result of beating by the suspect using their hands and feet.”
Garibay was arrested on charges of first-degree murder, cruelty to a dependent adult and torture.
“The manner in which the victim was assaulted, then subsequently left to their death, had the elements, we believe to establish probable cause, for the additional charges of torture and of course elder abuse,” said Pair…
