Electric vehicle chargers damaged outside Brooks Brothers Interiors

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Suspected thieves were caught on video sawing off cables to electric vehicle chargers outside a central Bakersfield business, according to Bakersfield police.

The incident occurred outside Brooks Brothers Interiors on Brundage Lane early Monday at about 5:25 a.m. Two men were seen riding a scooter and a bicycle, circling the area before sawing apart the charging cables. The cables are then collected and taken off camera.

The two suspects in the video are described by police as a man on a scooter, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall with a medium build. That man had short, dark hair and tattoos on his left forearm.

The second suspect was in possession of a hacksaw while riding a bike. Police say he was about 5 feet, 9 inches tall, with a slim build wearing a grey sweatshirt and light-colored gloves…
