BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A 19-year-old man accused of driving drunk and running a red light, causing a deadly crash on Union Avenue, was charged Tuesday with gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, among other crimes.
Nathon Michael Ramirez did not appear in court as scheduled Tuesday afternoon, and is now set to appear Wednesday to face the manslaughter charge, two counts related to DUI causing injury, reckless driving, driving without a license, running a red light and speeding.
Ramirez was the driver of a white BMW that police say ran a red light around 11:30 p.m. June 10 at Union and East California avenues. It collided with a Dodge Charger, fatally injuring the driver and sole occupant, Jason Munoz-Cruz, 27, of Porterville. He was pronounced dead at Kern Medical…
