Kern Valley State Prison inmate gets additional life term for assault

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — An inmate at Kern Valley State Prison who is serving a life term for robbery was sentenced to an additional 25 years to life for attacking another inmate with a weapon, according to court records.

David Charles Macon, 50, was sentenced Thursday after being found guilty of assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a deadly weapon by a prisoner.

The other inmate wasn’t seriously injured, prosecutors said. Macon has three prior felony convictions for robbery that fall within the state’s three strikes law, prosecutors said…
