Books come alive through dance at local libraries this month

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — This month, books are taking center stage in a unique way as libraries across the area host performances that bring stories to life through dance.

On Monday, July 7, at 10:30 a.m., the Southwest Branch Library will feature a play based on John Lithgow’s book “Never Play Music Right Next to the Zoo.” The performance will be brought to life by the McLaughlin Dance Collective.

Later that day, at 1 p.m., the Delano Branch Library will host another play inspired by the book “Dance with Dinosaurs,” performed by DAT Krew Academy…
