BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The major property crime rate in the City of Bakersfield hit a record low in 2024 compared to the past 10 years, according to data from the Bakersfield Police Department.
According to BPD, the major property crime rate per 1,000 residents in 2024 was 23. This marks a continued decline in the major property crime rate in Bakersfield, which went from 40 in 2022 to 33 in 2023.
The major property crime rate in 2024 was the lowest in 10 years, the data shows. From 2014 to 2022, the rate ranged from 39 to 46 per 1,000 residents.
