Man arrested in fatal east Bakersfield crashes; faces murder, manslaughter charges

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — A 30-year-old man has been arrested in his alleged connection with the deaths of two people following multiple crashes in east Bakersfield last month, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.

Reginald Moland, 30, faces charges including murder, gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, and hit-and-run resulting in death, the department said. Moland allegedly killed a driver at the scene and a pedestrian who died a day later.

On June 21, 2025, at around 6:02 p.m., officers were dispatched to Baker Street and Sumner Street after reports of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
