Man on probation arrested in east Bakersfield after fleeing, faces Prop 36 offense

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — A man on probation was arrested in east Bakersfield last week after attempting to flee from officers from the Kern County Probation Department, and was later found with methamphetamine.

On July 2, 2025, officers contacted Narciso Avalos at a home in the 200 block of Ixtapa Drive. He ran from them, but was eventually arrested.

Upon his arrest, officers discovered approximately 10.95 grams of suspected methamphetamine and evidence of drug sales. A records check revealed Avalos had active arrest warrants and two prior drug-related convictions…
