Suspect arrested after $72K stolen in Delano bank robbery: police

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A Kingsburg man is in custody after $72,000 was stolen Friday during a bank robbery in Delano, according to police.

Roman Espino, 37, was arrested after allegedly brandishing a gun at employees of the Tri-Counties Bank and fleeing in a white SUV with the stolen cash, according to a Delano Police Department release.

Police said license plate readers were integral in leading authorities to the suspect vehicle, found in Dinuba and driven by Espino.

Search warrants executed on the SUV and homes linked to Espino in Dinuba and Kingsburg resulted in authorities finding a large amount of cash wrapped with Tri-Counties Bank money bands, according to the release. They also seized a pellet gun…
