July 20, 2025 – Kern County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Search and
Rescue (SAR) volunteers with the Kern County Sheriff’s Office located the body of a deceased adult male in the Kern River near Hobo Campground.
The identity of the individual is being withheld pending official identification by the Kern County Coroner’s Office.
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office reminds the public that river conditions can be extremely dangerous, particularly during the summer months. We urge all visitors to use caution near the water and to observe all posted safety warnings…
