BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — The City of Bakersfield said today’s passing of rock icon Ozzy Osbourne has brought to light a unique connection between Ozzy’s infamous bat incident and Bakersfield.

In 1982, following Osbourne’s infamous act of biting the head off a bat during a performance in Iowa, Bakersfield took a proactive step to prevent similar incidents.
