Traffic stop leads to arrest of South Lake man who allegedly carried firearms, narcotics

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A 60-year-old man from South Lake was arrested on Tuesday after deputies found him in possession of firearms and narcotics, according to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said deputies with the Kern Valley Substation conducted a traffic stop in the 15000 block of Highway 178 for a vehicle with an expired registration.

In the vehicle, deputies allegedly found a loaded firearm and suspected methamphetamine.

Brian Clements, 60, of South Lake was the driver and he was determined to be a prohibited person possessing a firearm, according to KCSO. Clements was taken into custody at the scene.
