Plea deal reached in 2023 fatal shooting in Lamont

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A plea deal has been reached in connection with a shooting that killed a 17-year-old boy in Lamont two years ago.

Bretton Wallis on Friday pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter, attempted murder, firing a gun at an inhabited home, participating in a street gang and conspiracy to destroy evidence. A charge of first-degree murder was dismissed.
