BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A judge declared a mistrial Thursday after a Kern County jury deadlocked on a charge of first-degree murder in the case of Eliot Moore, accused of fatally shooting a man three years ago.
Jurors failed to reach a verdict even after considering the lesser charge of voluntary manslaughter, the foreperson told Judge John Oglesby. He said — and the rest of the jury agreed — further deliberation wouldn’t help.
