Wasco gang members sentenced to over 24 years for violent assault and firearm charges

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — Two Wasco gang members, Joel Arrazate Jr., 26, and Anthony Arreola, 25, were each sentenced to 24 years and four months in prison on Thursday, according to the Kern County District Attorney’s Office.

The sentencing follows their June conviction on multiple charges, including assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury and being felons in possession of a firearm and ammunition.

The jury found that Arreola personally discharged the firearm during the incident. Both men admitted to gang enhancements on all charges and acknowledged their participation in the Varrio Wasco Rifa criminal street gang at the time of the crime…
