Kern County may block vehicle access to these Oildale roads for pedestrian safety

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A request slated to be heard on Tuesday is asking the Kern County Board of Supervisors to approve road closures in Oildale to improve pedestrian safety in the residential areas.

The request, submitted by the Kern County Public Works Department, asks to block vehicle access in both ways at the intersection of Norris Road at California Street, as well as Norris Road at Sequoia Drive.

Vehicles would be blocked from accessing about 2,059 square feet of California Street extending south from the Norris Road intersection, as well as about 2,444 square feet of Sequoia Drive south from the Norris Road intersection.
