Mixed verdict for man who faced attempted murder charge in fight with deputy

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A Kern County jury reached a mixed verdict for a man who fought with and choked a deputy, acquitting him of attempted murder but returning guilty verdicts on assault and battery charges.

In total, Quane Dupri Sutton was acquitted of attempted murder, grand theft and vandalism, and convicted of battery and assault against a peace officer, and resisting arrest, according to court records.
