Chevron announces 75 more layoffs, LA Children’s Hospital eliminates 253 positions

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — Chevron and the Los Angeles Children’s Hospital announced layoffs through WARN notices sent by Kern and Los Angeles counties.

Chevron is set to cut more jobs in Bakersfield, with an additional 75 layoffs anticipated. This follows the company’s announcement in May that it would lay off 50 employees starting July 1. The new wave of layoffs will begin on October 23 and will affect workers at Chevron’s headquarters on Camino Media and the Kern River Field on China Grade Loop.
