Stevie Wonder impersonator deemed incompetent for trial again, hearing set for Sept. 18

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — Tino Ibach, a Stevie Wonder impersonator, has been found incompetent to stand trial for the second time after being accused of inappropriately contacting a young girl in Bakersfield.

On June 30, Ibach allegedly grabbed a 3-year-old at a Stockdale Highway gas station before being confronted by the girl’s mother and store employees. Earlier this month, a doctor determined Ibach was incompetent to stand trial. Despite Ibach’s objections and undergoing another evaluation with a new doctor, the results remained unchanged.

As a result, criminal proceedings against Ibach will be suspended. A hearing is scheduled for September 18 to decide whether he should receive involuntary medication or mental health diversion…
