BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A man was convicted of assaulting a KCSO deputy in March, putting him in a chokehold until three Good Samaritans came to help the deputy. The altercation happened after the suspect stole a phone from a convenience store.
The Kern County District Attorney’s Office said on August 27, 2025, Quane Sutton was convicted of battery on a peace officer, assault on a peace officer with force likely to cause great bodily injury, and resisting arrest with force.
