BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Family and community members gathered at the vigil held Sunday night for the 1-month-old baby who was killed in a crash in central Bakersfield.
The vigil took place in the corner of 8th and T streets, the intersection where the collision occurred. Purple and white balloons floated at the vigil and candles were lit in honor of the infant, identified as Le’anna Janee Lonnie Sterling.
Le’anna was a passenger in a sedan that was involved in a collision with a pickup at 8th and T streets on Aug. 24. Le’anna was taken to Kern Medical, then to Valley Children’s Hospital where she was pronounced dead the following morning, according to officials.
