Lamont man arrested in DUI sweep; 2 rifles and cocaine recovered

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — A DUI probation sweep led to the arrest of a Lamont man and the discovery of two low-caliber rifles and cocaine, according to the Kern County Probation Department. The sweep, conducted by the department’s Adult Probation Services Division on September 4, 2025, targeted individuals with outstanding DUI warrants.

During a home visit in the 8000 block of Far Hills Avenue, officers encountered Julian Gomez, who was wanted on a felony warrant. A search of the premises revealed an alleged stolen Colt Defense M4 Carbine, a Mossberg 4×4 rifle, multiple rounds of ammunition, brass knuckles, approximately one pound of cocaine, and evidence of drug sales…
