Sandra Brown guides viewers through ‘Tech Bro Murders’

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Residents of Palo Alto were a little safer because of the work of a Bakersfield native. Sandra Brown – who was born at the Kern County General Hospital and lived here until her family moved away when she was 5 – was a member of the Palo Alto Police Department for 24 years.

She’s using all that experience to host the new series on ID, “The Tech Bro Murders.” The six-part new true crime series looks at the dark side of Silicon Valley. Each episode unpacks some of the most shocking and twisted murder cases going back to the early days of the tech boom, when being on the cutting edge could carry a deadly price.

In the season premiere, “Killer Code,” airing at 10 p.m. Sept. 9, police have a puzzle to solve when they find a gifted programmer and a jilted lover at the scene of the murder of a 62-year-old Menlo Park resident. As they work to get to the bottom of who is responsible, the investigation leads them in an unexpected direction…
