Kern County Fair promises exciting shows, new food, and safety measures

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Kern County Fair is gearing up for an exciting year, with an expected attendance of around 400,000 guests over its 12-day run.

Chelsea Roberts, the marketing specialist for the fair, shared some of the thrilling changes attendees can look forward to, including more shows and exhibits.

“We have numerous new rodeos at the grandstand this year,” said Roberts. “This year, we have three nights of PRCA rodeo, and those will be Thursday through Friday, the second weekend, and then we added an additional showtime to our Fiesta del Charro Rodeo. We have a 3 p.m. showtime now, as well as a 6 p.m. showtime.”

The fair will also feature the return of the popular sea lion show, which Roberts described as “the cutest show that you will ever see.”
