Bakersfield police releases body-worn camera footage of standoff on Fieldspring Drive

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Bakersfield police released body-worn camera footage of the officer-involved shooting on Fieldspring Drive, during which a man allegedly broke a window at a home he barricaded himself in before pointing a weapon at officers.

The video was produced and edited by the Bakersfield Police Department and uploaded to YouTube on Friday.

On Aug. 16 at around 7:11 p.m., officers responded to a traffic hazard report near Ming Avenue and Grand Lakes Drive, officials said. The caller told police a gray Honda Accord was driving with a flat tire and running red lights before coming to a stop on Grand Lakes Drive.

A second caller said the driver left the vehicle and was walking north on Fieldspring Drive while appearing to be yelling and “acting erratically,” according to BPD…
