BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A motorcyclist died following a collision with a semi-truck Sunday evening at an intersection in south Bakersfield, police said.
The Bakersfield Police Department said the collision involving a man riding a motorcycle and a semi-truck occurred at the intersection of South Union and Welch avenues at around 6:07 p.m.

According to investigators, the motorcyclist was traveling westbound from Welch Avenue and the semi-truck driver was traveling northbound on South Union Avenue when the collision occurred at the intersection. The motorcyclist suffered major injuries in the crash. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
