Cancer advocates rally in D.C. to protect research funding

BAKERSFIELD, CALIF. (KBAK/KBFX) — On September 16, more than 700 cancer patients, survivors, and their loved ones from across the United States, including territories such as Guam and Puerto Rico, will converge in Washington, D.C., for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network’s annual Leadership Summit and Lobby Day. The gathering aims to urge Congress to safeguard critical funding for cancer research and prevention.
