BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — WARM & QUIET THROUGH WEDNESDAY
The weather has been quite fabulous this past weekend across beautiful Kern County. Sunday’s temperatures topped out in the low 80s from the South Valley, to the Antelope Valley and also the Kern River Valley. The mountains were comfortable with afternoon readings from the mid 60s (Cuddy Valley area) to the low 70s (Tehachapi). This is after a chilly start to those temps which dipped below freezing earlier on in the morning at Lake of the Woods with 27 degrees! Bear Valley Springs touched 33 and the Tehachapi area reached down into the mid 30s across the coldest neighborhoods. The next several afternoons are expected to be even warmer, with Tuesday potentially reaching 90 for the South Valley.
COOLDOWN NEXT WEEKEND
We’ll have to wait close to a week for the next sizeable cooldown. That’s when signs of another autumn trough could bring those numbers down around 20 degrees from earlier on in the week (per preliminary estimates). As is typically the case, such a cooldown will be accompanied by stronger winds, especially from the mountains, through the Kern River Valley and across the desert as well.
SHOWERS SOMEWHERE THURSDAY/FRIDAY?…
