Asm. Jasmeet Bains says there is ‘Epstein loophole’ in Zack Scrivner case

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Assemblywoman Dr. Jasmeet Bains publicly commented on the criminal case against former Kern County supervisor Zachary Scrivner, saying the case has an open “Epstein loophole.”

In a press release on Tuesday, Bains (D-Delano) criticized the motion seeking mental health diversion for Scrivner. He is charged with multiple felonies, including three counts of child cruelty and two counts of illegally possessing an assault rifle.

“There is no mental health condition that forces someone to touch a child inappropriately,” Bains said in the release. “Not to mention allegedly doing so while being in possession of illegal firearms. If these allegations are true and treatment is warranted, that care can be delivered behind bars. If the allegations are not true, why ask for diversion?”…
