Memorial held for Bakersfield man mysteriously killed after possible assault

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A tearful remembrance was held at a south Bakersfield church Thursday afternoon to honor a man whose death is a mystery.

There are reports 56 year-old Peter Espinoza was the victim of an assault on Oct. 2nd. Other reports say he may have been hit by a car. What is known is that he was unresponsive when he was found at 10 a.m. on a sidewalk near the busy corner of Union Avenue and White Lane.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner says the cause of death is under investigation…
