Man accused of $300k court sprinkler damage, caused flooding to offices and courtrooms: DA

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — A man accused of causing $300,000 in damage to the sprinkler system at the Kern County Superior Court building is set to appear in court at the end of October, announced the Kern County District Attorney. The incident led to significant flooding in nearby offices and courtrooms last month.

Kern County District Attorney Cynthia Zimmer highlighted this as a major development in a series of cases against the man, identified as Chuck Dooley, who has faced multiple arrests. These include alleged violations of Health and Safety Code Section 11395, related to unlawful possession of hard drugs with two or more prior convictions, and several felony vandalism charges.

Dooley’s alleged vandalism activities have targeted water lines and sprinkler systems at various public buildings, including the Kern County Hall of Records and the Kern County Superior Court Building at 1415 Truxtun Avenue.
