Bakersfield PD searches for suspect who tried to take 2 safes from business

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man allegedly involved in breaking into an east Bakersfield business and trying to take two safes.

The incident was reported in the 2600 block of Mt. Vernon Avenue on Aug. 12 at about 4:48 a.m. when a man tried to take two safes, according to the police department.

The man is described as in his 40s and bald. Police said he was wearing a black button-up shirt with a white undershirt, black pants and black shoes.
